More shifts coming

Was informed last night that one of the workers at Pizza Boys has quit.

I will be picking up his Saturday night shift from now on. This means an extra $60-$80 per week for the household. All good.

On other news, our attempt at rolling Ang's car loan into the house loan has hit a few snags. My weekly earnings are void as I have not been working for 12 months. We have to go on Ang's work and her letters of offer from companies here in Gippsland. If we are successful in getting the car into the house loan it'll mean we save an extra $250 per month on average. She will then sell the Explorer and get something practical for the whole family (7-8 seater).

Jessica is growing up fast. She is starting to roll onto her side and will shuffle on her back. If you put her down and leave her for 10 minutes and come back she will have moved. Pretty funny.

The girls are currently at their fathers until later today. We are going to get Paige counselling to deal with her ever present mood swings. We are sick of how she carries on. She needs help. Sarah is getting over a Viral rash and is going well. Jaiden has been doing more around the house which is excellent. We all learnt something when that Kid was down here. Just hope it continues.

Cutie Pie

Go home.....

Byron was taken home on Monday.

He hit Paige on Sunday night. It took me 5 hours to drive to Wedderburn and then 5 hours home. I am still recovering today.

So disappointing.....

Houston, We have a problem...

Slight hiccup at home.

Byron is almost out of control. Thinks he can do what he likes, doesn't listen to anyone and won't do as he's told. I can see why he gets the belt across the legs at home. He is a smart arse to boot as well.

A very pushy kid. Tell him one thing, he will do the complete oposite. He has pissed Jaiden off no end. Initially Jai was very lenient and willing to give Byron some leeway. Not anymore. He thinks that whatever is Jaiden's - is his. PS2 games, etc etc. I am going to take my PS2 out of the spare room where he is sleeping as a reminder to him that when he is down here, he lives by our rules. He cannot continue to think he runs the show.

The way he speaks to us all is very demeaning and arrogant. The way he speaks to the girls is downright hostile. As I have always said - treat others as you yourself would like to be treated. This is not good. In fact, I can't wait till Thursday when he is gone. Just so that the house goes back to it's normal routines. He is a fly in the oinment at the moment. A screwdriver in the spanner set. He needs to find his niche here and accept that.

This hulabaloo of thinking he can do whatever the fuck he likes - will end today. I will sort him out. End of story.....

A holiday within a holiday

3 days into my sons visit.

So far so good. I picked him up from the Calder Park inbound servo at 11am on Wednesday. After picking Jaiden up from Hallam, we travelled on to Morwell. Took us 3.5 hours to get back home. I found it easy to talk to Byron and there wasn't any awkward moments. With Jai in the car for the last 90 minutes made it easier as well.

It has been fucking hot since then. Was 31 on Wednesday, 39 yesterday (ack) and it's gonna hit 41 today before a cool change sweeps through in the afternoon sometime. The kids have spent the best part of the days in the pool. Paige has been following Byron around like he had a $100 note sticking out of his arse. Bloody Paige. Poor Sarah has been left out of the fun. Paige dropped her like a hot potato the moment Byron walked through the door. Currently he is sleeping in the spare room (has tv, PS2 and DVD player).

I let them stay up late Wednesday night as I knew if I put them all to bed early they would've played up. Paige always wants to kiss him and was even very bold (stupid) to ask if they could sleep in the same bed. Jesus H Christ. She has been a nightmare. My son is an easy going kid, well behaved and level headed. We think he is a bit of a Mummies Boy as he sort of clings to Ang when he can. Last night they watched Zathura together in his 'bedroom'. I will eventually get to spend some time with him. I am not that worried that I am not getting any quality time right now. I have the rest of HIS life to get to know him. I am patient to wait.

I will probably take my son and Jaiden off fishing on Monday. Probably go down to the Latrobe River near Traralgon somewhere. I am also going to try and take just Byron off for a game of golf with me. That's 3.5 hours alone. Should be fun.

His mum has called and so has his stepdad to check up that everything is OK. One little pearl of wisdom we have received from him is that he gets the belt at home. Apparently across the back of the legs when he is naughty. I'm a believer in discipline - but I would never use an item to hit my kids. A sharp smack does the job IF word discipline doesn't work. But I can make myself look ultra angry with a few words and my eyes. I don't really hit the girls here at home. A little smack on Sarah's bum now and again if she doesn't do what we say. We don't hit Paige anymore after she told her Dad AND she tends to go right off the deep end emotionally if we do hit her.

That's aboot it from me from now. Will update in a couple more days...

5 days into 2008

Boo.

A lot has happened this last week and a bit.

Biggest news is that Ang, Jessica and maybe the girls are going to New Zealand. Initially it was Mum, Dad and Jess. Then a day later everyone. In the end I put my foot down and explained some simple facts about costs and other things that ended the day-by-day changes in holiday plans. Ang is happy and so am I. She is going to see her Nana and other relatives. Will be going for 10 or so days.

New years was boring as always. I worked till late on NYE, watched the fireworks and went to bed. Crock of shit anyways. I have been doing more closes of late but always seem to have spent the money on household things before I have it. Fuel is costing me between $15-20 per night. The delivery fees we get more than covers this but the wear and tear on my car is becoming more and more noticeable. The old girl wont last more than 2-3 months I think. Has a rattle in the exhaust (Hole), check engine light has reappeared over the last week and stays on for a long time, and other nasties. I'd like to get a new car.

Jessica is getting bigger and heavier each day. She is growing up fast. She loves her playmat and swing. I have conversations with her now. She makes different noises and I respond in like. I love her to death.

Angela is starting to return to normal OR has less of a swing in the moods. This is excellent. It is very hard for me to try and pick her up with everything else I do around the house. If she can help me out more I'd probably be less grumpy with everybody. AND I am grumpy most of the times. Just feeling the stress of everything I guess. Money, Kids, Bills, House, etc etc.

The girls have been barely bearable. They bounce off each other. Paige bounces off Jaiden and gets under our feet. I am making a concerted effort not to jump down her throat. It is hard because she seems to deliberately disturb me and others here. We'll see how this goes anyway.

Apart from that, Byron is coming down here next week, Maybe. Just depends on his parents go ahead. I'm looking forward to it AND not looking forward to it.

Life is certainly throwing up a lot of obstacles at the moment. I just have to stay ahead of them and try to balance everything. Don't stress, don't stress. Life is to be enjoyed.

Heatwave a Comin'

Starting to warm up here in Morwell.

Still not as bad as it can be, like in Marble Bar, Western Australia.

Check the below link for their weather stats over the last 30 days.

Hottest town in Australia last 30 days

Bombshell

Boxing Day over dinner.

Paige drops the bombshell that she wants to go live with her Father in Drouin.

I was at work at after Ang had called me I went home to comfort her as she was very, very upset. Ang could not believe that after all she has done for Paige in her life that she would still stick a knife in her back. I talked to Paige and she told me that she wanted to move because Jaiden and Sarah are mean to her and that no-one loves her. She was adamant that she wanted to move. I told her that if she went - she would not be coming back EVER.

I got an early night after informing Mary of the problem (and I was making mistakes behind the oven anyway as my mind wasn't there). When I got home Ang had settled but Paige was still sure she wanted to live with her Father. I did not try and talk her out of it - just pointed out that it was a HUGE decision and to be 110% sure of it.

Ang did some smooth talking later in the night and Paige changed her mind. Jesus H Christ. The kid is 8 years old and thinks the world is her oyster and that she should be the centre of attention ALL the time. Although it would be hard for Paige as Jaiden never has a positive word to say to her and his attitude sucks. But that is Jai, I'm not going to try and change him. Paige on the other hand cannot do anything by herself and needs constant reassurance.

In the end - Paige is staying here with us. How everyone reacts towards her is in the balance.

Christmas Day 2007

Ho Ho, Fucking Ho.

After working till 10:30pm Xmas Eve, I managed to get everything wrapped and under the tree.

I awoke to the Jessica alarm clock at 7am. Did my morning things and then we opened our presents. The girls got more piddly crap from everyone that they'll forget about in 7 days. I got a new Mobile phone (Nokia 5070), 2 PS2 games, Seinfeld DVD and some aftershave. I bought Ang a White Gold bracelet, got her a new chest freezer (bought 2 weeks ago), a CD,perfume and some chocolates.

Byron called at 9am and I wished him a Merry Xmas and asked what he got and what he was doing on the day. After piss farting around for a few hours with the new toys we headed off to Auntie Roseanne's at 11am. Was an enjoyable car drive. Met up with everyone there, had a delicious lunch (Meats and all the spreads) and settled down to digest the food.

We played Volleyball for 30 minutes, enjoyed the Nintendo Wii and a few games of Billiards. The girls went for a swim for 15 minutes (waste of time). Jessica became unsettled after 3pm and nothing worked to placate her. In the end I took her into the Games Room for 45 minutes where she slept and settled.

When we left at 5pm Jess became unsettled again. We said our goodbyes and hit the road. Put $30 in the tank at Nar Nar Goon. Ang went into the back seat to settle Jessica which worked. Paige was sitting in the Boot area as we were short on available seating. Got back to Morwell just after 6pm and basically collapsed until bedtime. Jessica settled well on arriving home.

Ang did a lot of cleaning and passed out at 10pm. I fell asleep on the couch and woke at 1am. Went to bed.

What did I forget to do? Put the Bloody bins out....... Jesus.

Trip to Bendigo v.3

Jesus H Christ.

Never again will I be taking Paige up to Bendigo OR anywhere by myself for that matter. Living with her can be awful and dramatic at the best of times. To have her stuck in the next seat to me for 15 1/2 hours on public transport - What a nightmare.

We left Thursday at 5pm to catch the VLine train to Southern Cross. We got to Pakenham where we were informed that due to the Thunderstorms in Melbourne we would have to catch a Suburban train to Springvale, then Bus to Oakleigh and back on the Connex train to Flinders St. When we finally arrived in the city it was close to 9pm. We grabbed a bite to eat and then waited 30 minutes to catch the 216 Bus to Deer Park. Finally arrived at my parents at 10:30pm. 5 bloody hours. Paige was an absolute shocker. Wouldnt sit still, wouldnt shut up for more than 10 seconds. Never again I was telling myself.

We woke up at 6am on Friday morning and caught the Bus to Southern Cross Station. We missed our connecting VLine train to Bendigo by 5 minutes (Bloody Bus). We eventually caught the 9:15am Train to Bendigo that arrived 2 hours later. Walked the 10 minutes down to the Counsellors Office in Queen St to see Byron.

The time spent with him was good. It was only for 90 minutes though. We had KFC for lunch and then he opened his Xmas presents I bought him. He also tried kissing Paige and I had to tell him that she was his sister. When his Mum (Kylie) arrived to pick him up she basically tore strips off him for doing so.

"Rah rah, not until youre 16/17" She exploded.

I was taken aback. Just like when she was with me, very fiery.

She then told him sternly that she couldn't open his Lego present until he came down to stay with me (In 2 weeks). All I could think was "poor kid, living with her". We sort of punched out a deal so that I could have Byron for a week in January and then a weekend every month thereafter. Still needs to be finalised though.

We caught the train back to Melbourne (which stopped 10 minutes out of Bendigo for 45 minutes due to another Thunderstorm). Caught the 5pm Connex train to Pakenham and then waited a further 30 minutes before the VLine service to Traralgon. I killed 6 flies while waiting at Pakenham (The highlight of the trip for me). Saw some ferals that got kicked off the train for alcohol and abuse. The train was absolutely packed until Moe when most travellers seemed to depart. Got back into Morwell at close to 8pm.

15.5 hours spent on public transport WITH Paige for 90 minutes with my son, Byron.

Worth it???? I think not.....

MXC (Takeshis Castle)

Love Takeshis Castle with Kenny Blankenship (USA Dub).

Slack Bitch

Yo.

Been awhile since my last post to this thingy-ma-jig.

Jessica is growing up fast. Putting on weight and now making different distinct noises. I've been doing a lot of video taping (over an hour thus far) and spending some quality dad time with her. Before I know it she will be walking and talking.

Angela is still somewhat up and down of late. We did a pregnancy test last weekend but it turned out negative. She needs to put her feet up for an hour MINIMUM every day. I try and do my best to accomodate this but it is hard dealing with a household, work and 4 kids.

The other kids have been good. Jaiden finished school over a week ago and got an excellent report. 4 distinctions and 1 high distinction. We drummed out a deal with him 6 months ago which now netts him $30 for his report. The girls finish school today. Their reports were also of a high quality. But you cannot take too much stock out of them because the main testing area of grade Prep and grade 2 are drawing. Bah. 6 weeks at home to look forward to now..... gawd !!

We sent a letter to my ex over 3 weeks ago and got a reply 10 days ago in regards to settling out of court. Byron actually rang me. I think he just wanted to talk to the girls and not me. I talked to Andrew (Kylie's husband) and he informed me that they would like to end the court schmozzle. All I want is 2 weeks over Xmas holidays, a week during normal school holidays and 1 weekend a month. I will pick Byron up from Bendigo as well. If it went to court I would of settled on the same contact but pickup would of been halfway between WedderBong and Morwell (which is about Keilor). I am heading up to Bendigo tomorrow to see the Boy at the counsellors office. Will give him his Xmas pressies (Lego kit, Derwent pencils and other drawing materials and the bookset I bought him whilst I was overseas in the USA 3 years ago). Paige is coming with me as requested by Byron. She will help break up the trip anyway.

Work is going great. We had our Xmas party last weekend which was a hoot. Good food and free drinks (was at the Italian Club here in Morwell). Andy has quit driving for RTL which means a happier Boss? (I hope).

Thats about it.

Jedi Politics

From the movie Clerks featuring Randall and Dante.

Friday, December 7

Hooroo to you too !

Another week.

Do the most important things 1st. Jessica has been more settled of late. She is starting to smile more often and even laughed (although I missed it) last weekend. She has begun using more noises (apart from the basic Eh, Neh, etc) to communicate with us. She will have her fathers moods no doubt and her mothers good looks. I've learned that every bad thing she gets off me whilst the good comes from Mum.

We went to Auntie Roseanne's last Sunday for a BBQ lunch. Pretty good day. I went early (with Jai) and did the smack converters at Fountain Gate. Bought Jaiden a Nintendo Gamecube and a few games ($85). The girls are spoiled rotten by their father (and to a lesser extent, Angela) so it is only fair that Jai get some action as well. We all swam in the pool for a while and got sunburned. It was a peach of a day (about 30 deg C). Found out that Ryan (Ang's cousin) is going to be a dad as well.

Angela is starting to settle more. Since the birth she has been up and down like a roller coaster. I get frustrated with her at times. Dont know if she's Arthur or Martha. She takes it that I am mad at her or moody. I don't mean to go off at her when I do but it's hard for me to be level when she is like a yo-yo. Over the last few days I have bitten my tongue and reined in my anger somewhat. If I am the backbone of this family, she is all the other bones. Does a heck of a lot and gets no recognition from the kids at home. They see her as a Free Shop probably. No respect. And that sucks. I do the little things that need doing at times to help her out but most of the time she takes to doing the lot. Ang keeps telling me that this will all get better quickly. Seriously I am not troubled by Jessica at all. I love her to death and her crying does not bother me at all. She cant help it. I am troubled by the fact that Ang gets no help around the house when I am at work and that the girls are running her to the brink of a breakdown.

The girls. Where to start. Better not to start because I won't be able to stop. They are going out to their father's for Saturday night this weekend. Oh how I pray that they act up. Just to show him how good he has had it all these years. The reason he left, the main one anyway, was because he could not cope with the girls at the time and found it easier to cop out with someone he was having an online/real life affair with. Once again he will try and buy their love over the Xmas period BUT won't take them away for a holiday. Jesus mate, grow a backbone already and deal with life. You cannot keep running from your responsibilities. I just hope that Paige goes Bananas and that Sarah's legs/arms/whatever hurts over this visit so he can see what an effort it is to keep everything balanced with them. They are good kids. The next few years could be the turning points in their lives.

Jaiden is Jaiden. A lazy shite. But a good kid nonetheless. He finishes school in a weeks time. We will be limiting his computer time over the Xmas period. He cannot go on like this. Wasting his childhood. I think I'd rather him out on the streets getting into trouble. Thats what teenagers do. This crap with living on the computer - A fucking waste. He would seriously be lost without his electronical things. So sad.

Work is great. I really love getting out of the house for a bit. Gives me a recharge and I help the household out. I picked up an extra shift last night and worked from 5-11pm. Thats more moolah for us. Andy has come back to work. He has been stuck up at Yallourn North (river collapse) for the last 3 weeks. Good and bad to have him back.

Bah. Nothing else to add I guess.
